Wooden Spoon Northumberland Celebrates Official Handover of New Minibus to Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project
NorthumberlandWooden Spoon Northumberland is celebrating the official handover of a new minibus to Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project (CVYP), marking another significant milestone in its commitment to improving opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the region.
The specialist minibus, funded through the incredible support of Wooden Spoon Northumberland’s fundraising activities together with the remaining funds from the Stay Strong Stu Fund, will provide safe and reliable transport for young people accessing CVYP’s Chirdon Head Expedition Centre in Kielder. The vehicle will enable more children and young people to take part in outdoor learning, adventurous activities and life-enhancing experiences that support their personal development and wellbeing.
The official key handover took place during the Tynedale RFC 7s Tournament, where Wooden Spoon Northumberland President Francis Watson-Armstrong presented the keys to Faye Willis, SEND Coordinator at Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project.
The new minibus builds on Wooden Spoon’s £28,000 grant awarded to the project and will play a vital role in removing transport barriers, allowing more young people of all ages and abilities to access educational, recreational and social opportunities beyond the youth centre.
The project also represents the enduring legacy of the Stay Strong Stu Fund, whose continued impact is helping create lasting opportunities for young people throughout Northumberland.
