LANCING SEA SCOUTS IS 22ND SUSSEX PROJECT
SussexTHURSDAY 5th April saw the opening of Wooden Spoon Sussex‘s 22nd project at Lancing Sea Scouts. Members of the Sussex Committee and representatives from Wooden Spoon National Office gathered at the Scout Hut in Lancing where they were welcomed by the Sea Scouts leadership team as well as a group of scouts.
Wooden Spoon’s donation has helped fund new tents and equipment in time for their annual camp on Brownsea Island in August.
Bob Rogers, Wooden Spoon Sussex Chairman, congratulated the Scout Leadership team on the significant contribution they are making to enhance the lives of local children and young people in the area. Alan Duke the Group Scout leader thanked Wooden Spoon for its generous donation which has funded three new Canvas Tents and two dining shelters.
The visitors were then treated to a film about the broad range of Lancing Sea Scouts activities followed by an excellent tea.
