England Star Claudia MacDonald opens Littleham Outdoor Classroom

The Littleham Outdoor Classroom is an outdoor learning initiative helping children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage, has officially opened in Exmouth with a funding boost of £6,000. This project, aimed at creating an inclusive and engaging space for outdoor education, is set to have a significant impact on the school’s pupils.

Littleham C of E Primary School celebrated the opening of their new outdoor classroom on Friday22 November, with representatives from the Wooden Spoon charity, Exmouth Rugby Club, the Norman’s Trust, Tesco, Get Hands On, and the local community joining together for the event. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Claudia MacDonald, England and Exeter Chiefs Rugby player, alongside the Mayor of Exmouth, Jo Whibley, and his deputy.

Tom Paddon, Littleham Headteacher, expressed his gratitude, saying: “It has been an absolute pleasure to host all the people who have helped make this a reality.”

This new outdoor classroom provides a dynamic and nature-filled environment designed to enhance learning and wellbeing for students. By fostering opportunities for outdoor education and exploration, the project aligns with the school’s commitment to creating enriching learning experiences for every child.

The project was generously supported by Wooden Spoon Charity, which contributed to its funding. Wooden Spoon is a charitable organisation dedicated to transforming lives through the power of the rugby community.
