Cornerstone School Immersion Room

Kent (South East)

Cornerstone School Immersion Room launched in Kent with a funding boost of £12,000 from Wooden Spoon. This project, aimed at providing an immersive learning and therapeutic experience for autistic students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, is set to have a significant impact on the school community.

The new immersion room at Cornerstone School is designed to offer a high-quality, interactive environment where students can engage in social, emotional, and wellbeing activities. The room supports students in regulating their emotions and developing essential life skills, while also serving as a flexible space for various curriculum-based sessions. This space will provide both guided and independent opportunities for students to access tools and support that aid in emotional regulation, promoting personal growth and resilience.

Cornerstone School, a new SEN facility tailored for students whose needs prevent them from accessing mainstream secondary schools, aims to create a supportive and inclusive educational environment. With the addition of the immersion room, students can benefit from a sensory-rich experience that enhances both their learning and wellbeing.
