Open Trail Wheelchair Access to Bike Park: A Step Towards Inclusion

The Open Trail Wheelchair Access to Bike Park, a community initiative in the field of inclusive recreational facilities, has opened in Worcestershire with a funding boost of £4,300. This project, aimed at creating accessible pathways and opportunities for wheelchair users to engage with outdoor biking activities, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.

Open Trail is a registered charity dedicated to encouraging young people in Worcestershire and the West Midlands to strive for more than they think possible, regardless of their personal circumstances.

This new accessible bike park addition, which opened in January 2024, provides a welcoming and inclusive environment designed to help people of all abilities connect, relax, and explore the outdoors in a supportive space.

The project was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports Open Trail’s dedication to creating safe and inclusive spaces that foster wellbeing, growth, and empowerment.
