Former Leeds Rhinos player Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December 2019. Since then, Rob and his family have campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness and funds to support other families living with MND.
The 2023 event saw over 10,000 participants take to the streets of Leeds, taking in some of the city’s most scenic countryside and outer suburbs. The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon will be a fitting tribute to the city that launched Rob’s career and which he called home.
Whether you are an experienced runner or have never thought about running an event before, all abilities are welcome to join for this very special event.

Wooden Spoon works with some event suppliers to provide a platform for our members and supporters to fundraise for the charity. There is a cost to the charity to administer these events and therefore we have set minimum fundraising levels which we view as achievable based on previous participants. It is at Wooden Spoon’s discretion whether to allow the participants to take part or not for the charity, if fundraising levels are not met. Thanks for your understanding.
