Full House at Cardiff RFC for Wooden Spoon Quiz

Cardiff RFC once again played host to a fantastic evening of competition and camaraderie as the Wooden Spoon Quiz returned to the world-famous Sir Gareth Edwards Lounge—welcoming a full house of 25 enthusiastic teams.

The event was expertly hosted by Wooden Spoon ambassador and BBC broadcaster Phil Steele, who resumed his role as quizmaster and kept teams entertained throughout the night with his trademark humour and energy. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the quiz raised over £3,000 in support of life-changing projects for children and young people across Wales.

Several of Wooden Spoon’s beneficiary schools were represented on the night, including Cadoxton (Barry), Ysgol Hen Felin (Rhondda), and Ysgol Bryn Castell (Bridgend), along with first-time participants from St Woolos (Newport). Their presence offered a meaningful reminder of the positive impact that fundraising events like this continue to make in communities across the region.

Competition was tight at the top of the leaderboard, but it was Admiral who ultimately claimed victory, with Eversheds Sutherland and Owain’s Heroes finishing close behind.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who attended and contributed to another memorable evening. Wooden Spoon Wales also extends special appreciation to the raffle sponsors—Herbert Thomas, Pure Cyber, and Cardiff RFC—for their valued support.
