Lancashire West Coast Annual Luncheon raises £30,000
The event was attended by 350 guests at the Village Hotel in Blackpool and nearly £30,000 was raised for Wooden Spoon.
The guests were entertained by guest speaker John Inverdale, MC Joey Blower, Paul Dobie and comedian Carl Schofield.
Sir Bill Beaumont also spoke about his recent experiences at the Womens Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and being appointed as a village chief in Samoa! However, it was 13 year old Maddie who attends the Boathouse Youth in Blackpool, a charity previously supported by Wooden Spoon, who made the day when she spoke with courage about her life experiences. There was not a dry eye in the house and, In the words of Sir Bill,
‘She is an incredible young lady’
