A tee-rific golf day for Wooden Spoon Leicestershire

Wooden Spoon Leicestershire were extremely pleased to be able to hold their annual Golf Day as planned this year on Thursday 3 September.

The turnout was excellent – 22 teams including our first ever all-ladies team. It was such a pleasure to see so many old friends and supporters and to have some fun in the glorious Rutland sunshine.

Our players were as big-hearted as ever and helped us to raise £6,000.00 to support children and young people in the local community.

Our hosts, Luffenham Heath Golf Club worked really hard to ensure that the social distancing measures that were put in place kept everyone safe during the day, but also enabled all attendees to have a good game of golf, a few cheeky beers and an enjoyable catch up with people they haven’t seen for a while.

The golf was the usual mix of outstanding, interesting and frankly awful shots but there was a great atmosphere and everyone enjoyed being out in the open and having a spot of banter. Our winning team Oadby Plastics will, I’m sure, be sharing their prize with friends and family!
