Redruth RFC team up with Wooden Spoon Cornwall
Wooden Spoon Cornwall and Redruth RFC came together recently to celebrate the launch of their new partnership, as Redruth RFC joined forces with the children’s charity of rugby through their new Partner Club Programme.
The event was to mark the start of the official partnership between the club and Wooden Spoon, where together they will raise funds to help the rugby club as well as fund local projects supporting disadvantaged and disabled children.
Wooden Spoon Cornwall’s chairman, John Sumnall, presented the club with the official Partner Club Programme plaque to mark the occasion.
Guests also enjoyed a great game of rugby with Redruth RFC entertaining Taunton RFC in a Division 2 match. At half time a cheque for £6,679 was presented to Wooden Spoon by two Redruth stalwarts, Ian Eslick and Mark Bryant, who had walked an incredible 142 miles along the Cornish Coastline to raise funds for the charity.
