We have granted more than £700,000 to projects for children with disabilities or facing disadvantage. Since our formation, we are immensely proud of the difference we continue to make in our local community.
Our biggest donation to date has been a pledge of £389,100 to The Christie Hospital in Manchester, which was used to help fund a new Teenage Cancer Trust unit, and we recently met the costs of a make-over of the rehabilitation centre at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
We funded specialist sensory equipment at Newlands School for their hydrotherapy pool with a £13,000 grant. The sensory equipment includes lighting and a surround sound system, which enables teachers to play music for the children to enjoy in the pool.
The more the children use this, the more their self belief and confidence in the water grows. Teachers at Newlands School have seen massive improvements in the children’s communication between their peers.
