Since 2004, Hertfordshire has raised over £320,000 to spend on projects in their local area. The projects aim to improve the care and wellbeing of children with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

Our busy calendar of events has helped to improve many young lives, including those of pupils at Meldreth Manor. We presented the residential school with £32,000 to contribute to the cost of new accommodation for students with physical and learning disabilities.

In May 2019, Wooden Spoon Hertfordshire hosted Kyran Bracken’s third night for his Wooden Spoon Speak-a-thon at Welwyn RFC. In total the event raised over £2,700 for Wooden Spoon, whilst sticking to the charity’s policy of putting the fun into fundraising.

See the events tab below for upcoming fundraising activities within the region.

Our Past Honorary President, Ben Ransom, participated in the London Marathon to raise money for children with disabilities or facing disadvantage. In 2019, our runners raised a massive £70,000 for a variety of projects across the UK and Ireland.
