Rugby legend Andy Gomarsall supports project opening
WarwickshireOur Warwickshire region was delighted to provide funding for wonderful new facilities at Hill Crescent Farm recently.
Hill Crescent Farm is located in Water Orton near Coleshill, set up in 2012 by Stuart Wootton and Katie Aldham to provide educational facilities for children with disabilities and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Children are hugely benefiting by gaining self confidence, self reliance and inclusion as part of the farm. With a wide range of animals including sheep, goats, pigs, horses, goats, hens, rabbits and guinea pigs, young people are able to gain experience caring for the farm animals and take an active role supporting the day to day running and development of the farm.
The project was opened by former England rugby international Andy Gomarsall, who is an avid supporter of Wooden Spoon. As well as volunteers and supporters of our charity, the opening was supported by a number of young people who directly benefit from working on the farm.
Schools that support children and young people with special needs in the area all benefit from visits to the farm, providing them with the opportunity to provide hands-on help caring for the animals. By funding a new facility, Wooden Spoon has enabled the farm to expand and develop its facilities which will benefit even more children.
