Wooden Spoon is going for a third Guinness World Record breaking attempt, this time to play in the longest EVER match of rugby!
In 2015, School of Hard Knocks established a new World Record at 28 hours 33 minutes, by 40 players. A new record was set in 2017, and now its our chance to go head-to-head with SOHK and gain another World Record title for Wooden Spoon in 2019.
Date: Sunday 25th – Monday 26th August 2019
Venue: Hazelwood, The Home of London Irish
Details: The game will be played with 23 players per squad, under official laws, for 30 hours.
We want to attempt this world record to:
- Raise awareness of the life-changing work of both Wooden Spoon and School of Hard Knocks
- Celebrate rugby union in the run up to the Rugby World Cup
- Raise £100,000 to help disadvantaged children in the UK have better opportunities in life
We still have a few player places available in our record breaking team. To be considered for selection, please email your rugby credentials to Juliette Gillard at firstname.lastname@example.org
This fundraising event is being held in aid of Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby
