London Marathon Challenge in memory of Dad

A letter from our brilliant London Marathon runner Anthony Sutcliffe:

I am writing to you today with an exciting and meaningful opportunity that I am deeply passionate about. I have decided to take on the challenge of participating in the London Marathon in April 2024, one of the most prestigious and iconic marathon events in the world. I have decided to take on this challenge in honour of my father who passed away suddenly and most unexpectedly at the young age of 66 on August 13th this year, and who himself completed his own marathon albeit some years ago!

The London Marathon is not just a race; it is an incredible platform for individuals like me to make a positive impact on the lives of others. To make this experience even more meaningful, I have chosen to raise funds for a cause that is very close to my heart: Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby, who raise funds for projects supporting children with disabilities or facing disadvantage across the UK & Ireland. If you would like more information on the Charity, please visit: https://woodenspoon.org.uk

To successfully contribute to this very worthy cause, I am reaching out to friends, family, businesses, and supporters who share my enthusiasm for making a difference. Your support can play a vital role in helping me achieve my fundraising goal, and in turn, benefit those who are in need. My goal is to raise £2500. All proceeds will go towards funding life-changing projects.

If you would like to sponsor as a Company, I am kindly asking for a minimum sponsorship of £100. Your Company name will be included on the Just Giving page, social feeds, and race vest. If you can sponsor more than £100, your Company name will feature on Wooden Spoon platforms for maximum exposure.

Your generous donation, no matter the amount, will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way in making a positive impact on the lives of those who rely on the services and support provided by Wooden Spoon. Our vision is that through the power of Rugby, every child and young person has access to the same opportunities.

Here is how you can help: Visit my fundraising page here to make a secure online donation. Contact me directly on 07730554257 to discuss alternative ways to contribute.

I genuinely believe that together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need, and your support will motivate me during the rigorous training and on the day of the event.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request. Your generosity will not only help me accomplish a personal goal but also bring much-needed support and hope to those who deserve it most. I look forward to sharing updates on my journey and the impact we can create together. Your support means the world to me, and I cannot thank you enough for being a part of this journey.
