New Skills Pod for Sidestrand School

Sidestrand School on the North Norfolk coast held their annual Christmas Fayre on the same day as the official opening of the new Skills Pod, funded by Eastern Counties.

The new pod is designed to advance the carpentry skills of the sixth formers at Sidestrand School, as the students work with locally sourced materials to a variety of garden furniture from which the proceeds help to swell the school charity funds.

During the Christmas Fayre, lots of the decorations and garden items made in the Pod were sold to visitors.

Lots of families attended the event and the children were very excited with the arrival of two of Santa’s reindeer.

It is proposed to invite the students who use the Pod to engage in an upcoming project for Eastern Counties, to provide outdoor furniture for use in a Woodland Walk in Norwich. This will be an all inclusive area for local special needs and mainstream schools.
