Lanhydrock hosts stunning golf day

On a beautiful July morning the Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club hosted Wooden Spoon Cornwall’s annual golf day raising over £2,000 for disabled and disadvantaged children across Cornwall.

Truro RFC, (L to R) Graham Hill, Grant Champion, Darren Healey (Capt) and Clive Pascoe.

17 teams of 4 players tee’d off comprised of golfers from rugby clubs and golf clubs around the county. Overall winners were Lanhydrock Golf Club, captained by Tony Bray. Truro RFC had the best Rugby Club score, captained by Darren Healey. Truro RFC will now enter the national rugby club competition in Kent.

Wooden Spoon Cornwall would like funds raised from the day to contribute to various projects in Cornwall, including a specialised playground equipment for young children at Lower Drupm School, Redruth, which supports young children with severe learning disabilities, very often accompanied with other medical problems.

Wooden Spoon Cornwall would like to sincerely thank Lanhydrock Golf Club for their generous hospitality, the event Sponsors – Barclays Bank, Sharps Brewery and the Co-Operative food stores, Cornwall  for their incredible support for the event and of course all those golfers who took park and made the day a success.
