Windy West Kent Golf Day wows

KNOLE Park Golf Club hosted a very successful West Kent Golf Day for Wooden Spoon Kent, raising a great £8,000 for projects to help disabled and disadvantaged children across Kent. Despite the terribly windy conditions, 29 fourball teams met for the 9am Shotgun start , with the best two Stableford points to count.

There were two competitions on the course to win a case of wine with an entry fee of £5.00 per player. Dartford Valley ‘BCs’ led by Stephen Tite were 1st with 91 points. In 2nd place was the White Hope Hopefuls team with 89 points on count back. 3rd place went to the Hever Old Farts team also with 89 points. ‘Nearest the Pin’ on the 10th was won by Bob Beney of the Fifties Beckenham team and ‘Nearest the Pin in Two’ on the 18th was won by Andy Allen of the White Hart Hopefuls team.

The day was rounded off with a late three course lunch, and all were brilliantly entertained by Adger Brown our MC/Auctioneer.

A huge thank you must go to all the players our sponsors, donors and helpers.

Next year’s Golf Day will again be hosted at Knole Park Golf Club on Friday 12 June 2020.
