Speak-a-thon success

THE Spirit of Rugby Freemasons’ Lodge number 9922 combined forces with Wooden Spoon Kent to host the final event of the Wooden Spoon Speak-a-thon with Kyran Bracken on Sunday 26 May, and raised over £2,000 to help the Wooden Spoon Kent Region support disabled and disadvantaged children and young people in the region.

In addition to his sporting successes, Kyran is a celebrated motivational and after dinner speaker. Kyran entertained guests with very funny accounts of his career both on the playing field and ice rink. At the end of the evening, guests were invited to face and catch his famous BULLET PASS.

Worshipful Master of the Spirit of Rugby Lodge, Bob Mitchell welcomed Kyran and guests to the Cornwallis Suites in Maidstone where all were treated to a 3 course carvery lunch as well as an introduction to the shared values of Rugby and Freemasonry.
