Retro Madness at Rock The Moor

ON Saturday 18th May Wooden Spoon Chilterns attended the 11th family friendly Let’s Rock The Moor festival on Marsh Meadown in Cookham Moor. This 1980s revival concert is run as part of a national program, however it is the only one which benefits charities.

In the last ten years the festival has raised more than £400,000 for Child Bereavement UK, The Link Foundation, Wooden Spoon and other local charities. As in previous years Wooden Spoon Chilterns will receive a share of the net profits.

Festival attendees were treated to acts that included Erasure’s Andy Bell, Marc Almond, Shalamar, Jason Donovan, Go West, Nik Kershaw, Limahl, Snap!, Hugh Cornwell, Thomas Dolby, Blancmange, Neville Staple Band, and many more.

The event also included a second stage to introduce local bands, a circus, funfair including water rides and soft play areas, as well as children’s entertainers from BBC/ITV, along with stalls, food and bars.
