Congratulations to our fantastic London Marathon Runners!

London Marathon 2019 - A Fryett

The Hulk, aka Andy Fryett.

ON SUNDAY 28th April, 19 Wooden Spoon runners took to the 26 mile 385 yard course of the Virgin London Marathon 2019 whilst being cheered on by the London crowds. The atmosphere on the day was amazing and it was great to see so many Wooden Spoon runners on the roads of London, including the Hulk who sported our distinctive stripy vest!

On the day the weather was kind being slightly overcast and thankfully not as windy as the day before! Here is what some of our runners had to say:

Gareth Biddle commented: “Sunday was the best experience of my life! So much so that I doubt it can ever be bettered.”

Lizzie Shand added: “It was such a great day! Really enjoyed every moment, I am definitely interested in running next year too!”

To date the runners have raised more than £30,000 for Wooden Spoon which could fund an adventure playground that gives children with disabilities the opportunity to play freely with their peers and enjoy everyday moments.

A huge thank you to all who took part and their sponsors for their tremendous fundraising efforts at this year’s London Marathon. With your support and dedication the money raised can achieve some incredible things for the amazing children and young people we help!
