Wooden Spoon Devon kicks off the Festive Season

WOODEN Spoon Devon arranged an early kick-off to the Christmas season with a Festive Shopping Event on Thursday 1st November 2018. The plan was to support independents by encouraging everyone to shop local AND in doing so support local children’s projects.

More than 40 local artists, makers and artisan food producers gathered for the evening in the grand surroundings of Exeter Castle and almost 200 people visited and enjoyed complimentary prosecco while they shopped for unique festive gifts.

Everyone was entertained throughout the evening by Sadie Horler, a talented young singer songwriter who is already a favourite with BBC Introducing in the South West.

The combination of a great venue, talented exhibitors, a friendly audience, wonderful music and a glass of prosecco proved a winning combination. The event raised an incredible £2,000 to be spent on projects to benefit children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage living in Devon. Take a look at the Devon regional page to see how the money raised could be used locally.

Thank you to who took all the photos.
