Wales Golf Day success
A FULL house of 18 teams entered the Wooden Spoon Wales 2018 Golf Day at the Vale Golf and Spa Resort Hensol near Cardiff.
On a gloriously sunny day the teams enjoyed the superb conditions on the Wales National course and afterwards tucked into a lovey two-course meal in the clubhouse.
At the end of play the triumphant winners were Watkins & Gunn who took first place, followed by Interhaul and Sony in second and third respectively. In addition, Mike Phillips, from the Sony team, won the longest drive on the 4th as well as the notorious horizontal ‘tee challenge’ on the 17th.
Former wales rugby international Craig Quinnell presented the prizes and he won ‘nearest the pin’ competition as well being part of the overall winning team!
Our grateful thanks go to The Vale Golf and Spa Resort for being fantastic hosts, and to everyone who supported the day by entering a team.
The Golf Day raised more than £3,200 for Wooden Spoon Wales to go towards local projects for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people in Wales.
