Glorious Edinburgh Golf Day
GLORIOUS sunshine greeted 72 golfers at the Edinburgh golf day held at the prestigious Royal Burgess, the oldest golf club in the world, on Thursday 7 June 2018.
Helped on by some liquid refreshment from our friends at a certain brewer along with the new addition of being able to purchase “Mulligans”, scoring was extremely competitive.
Our very own committee members Paul Dixon and P C Brown battled it out with the former and his team prevailing.
Brian Donald, the former TV and radio sports broadcaster, took charge of the evening entertainment, even persuading PC to do a turn and regale the talents of a certain ex-Gala player Gregor Townsend, now the Scotland head coach.
The evening climaxed with the auction of some quality sporting items; such as Ryder Cup tickets and Muirfield golf to name but two.
A profit of £6,250 was achieved which will go towards a local Wooden Spoon Scotland project later this year.
A huge thank you to all involved in the day.
