Volunteers enjoy Royal Garden Party

IN NATIONAL Volunteers Week we were pleased to be able to invite two of our volunteers to attend the Royal Garden Party and meet our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal.

Katie and Mark Loveday were the delighted recipients of the nomination to attend the Royal Garden Party in recognition of the work and support they put into CT2017 cycle ride in September, which raised £136k for Wooden Spoon Eastern Counties and nine local charities in Norfolk.

Over the course of each year, The Queen welcomes over 30,000 guests to spend a relaxed summer afternoon in the beautiful gardens of Buckingham Palace or the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Garden Parties are an important way for The Queen to speak to a broad range of people from all walks of life, all of whom have made a positive impact in their community.

Mark commented;

“We had a superb day, enjoyed the sunshine and meeting Princess Anne, who remains a huge advocate of the charity. It was an honour to be recognised for the collective effort. It’s a pity all 86 riders couldn’t be there, maybe next time!”
