Peterborough RFC host 11th annual lunch
MORE THAN 60 diners attended the annual Wooden Spoon lunch at Fortress Fengate at Peterborough RFC and were treated to a sumptuous lunch and fine company. Guests were welcomed by Dick Clark and the club’s new treasurer Margery Beuttell who made a generous donation to the funds raised on the day.
Chair of Eastern Counties, Seamus Farrelly thanked all at the club for their longevity of support for the region and gave a resume of the funds raised and projects completed in the past year and some idea of plans for a record breaking year ahead aiming to complete eight new projects. Eastern Counties region have badged two projects with the club totalling £35k during the past few years.
A very big thank you goes to Hanna Senior who has recently taken on the role of Events Manager at the club and who did splendid work in organising the lunch.
Afterwards most guests retired outside to see the team take on Wellingborough RFC with the home side going down narrowly by 20-25. Many also stayed on to watch the two big deciders in the Six Nations games; with Ireland beating Scotland and unfairly England going down to France.
A big thank you to all at Peterborough RFC for the continued support and warm welcome.
