Youngsters Delight at Rebalancing Suite

SURREY youngsters at Sunnydown School in Caterham, along with school governors and Wooden Spoon Surrey representatives attended the official opening of the school’s new rebalancing suite on 12 October 2017. The suite was officially opened by John Inverdale, Honorary President of Wooden Spoon Surrey.

Wooden Spoon Surrey contributed £20,000 towards the £25,000 state-of-the-art sensory room, with the remainder raised by the school’s parent group, The Friends of Sunnydown School.

Sunnydown School is a maintained Special school for 85 boys, aged 11 to years old, with Communication and Interaction (COIN) difficulties. The school’s mission is to transform lives and provide a unique learning experience for each pupil. Its core values are based on independence, resilience and co-operation.

The new Rebalancing suite will play an important role in this said Sunnydown’s head teacher, Paul Jensen. He expressed his, and the pupil’s sincere gratitude to “all of the supporters of Wooden Spoon across the UK, but especially in Surrey, for their support.”
