Hertfordshire Golfers Raise £4k

A BEAUTIFUL autumnal day welcomed 52 golfers to the lovely parkland course at Knebworth GC when a great day was had by all.

It started with a putting competition kindly organised and sponsored by PuttOut, with Nick Turner proving the most accurate. Then, following sandwiches, the main tournament began with many prize-winning opportunities and of course, the Wooden Spoon refreshment tent available to all.

Hertfordshire golfers: winners receive PING golf bags

Messrs Norton, Hill, Wiggins and Bugden receiving their prizes.

Messrs Norton, Hill, Wiggins and Bugden prevailed and were proud recipients of the Ping golf bags. Gavin Hill had travelled all the way from Bulgaria to compete and so was also awarded a Wooden Spoon tie as the furthest travelled golfer. Whilst Messrs Priddle, Keenher, Richardson and Hedges were awarded PuttOut practising devices in recognition of the amount of golf they played.

Knebworth Golf Club then provided excellent fare during the evening when all were entertained by comedian Simon Clayton, alongside usual shenanigans of heads & tails, a raffle and an auction.

In all, a fantastic £4000 was raised for Wooden Spoon Hertfordshire, which was the highest amount for a number of years. We are extremely grateful for the support and generosity of all the golfers.
