Cox climbers conquer Three Peaks
YORKSHIRE’S Three Peaks Challenge posed no problems for Cox Automotive’s Group Board as a nine-strong team raised more than £10,000 for the children’s charity of rugby.
The intrepid fundraisers completed the 24-mile route in under 12 hours, taking 5,200ft of ascent in their stride in the Yorkshire Dales National Park to raise the five-figure sum for Wooden Spoon, which is Cox Automotive’s charity of the year.
The team included Michael Buxton, Alison Fisher, Clare Field, Martin Forbes, Darren Mornin, Nigel Fletcher, Jeremy Lewis, Alasdair Stewart and Louise Moorby.
Michael said: “We are so pleased to have beaten our £10,000 fundraising target. The thought of completing the Three Peaks Challenge was quite daunting, but the team was more than happy to take part and support the fantastic work carried out by Wooden Spoon.”
