Founders reunite for presentation.
Recently the 5 founding members of Wooden Spoon reunited for a lunch a the Churchill Arms in Kensington, London.
Peter Scott, Steve Scott, Mike Scott, Vic During and Nigel Timson met up along with their wives in one of London’s oldest Pubs, to present landlord Gerry O’Brien with a large Wooden Spoon to display in his famous watering hole.
The spoon will be displayed in the pub, dating from 1750, famous for its Winston Churchill memorabilia and its outdoor floral displays providing a very recognisable backdrop to its well known regulars. The pub can also claim to be the first to serve Thai food in London.
The current landlord has been welcoming visitors for over 30 years to the pub, and being a keen rugby follower thrives on the six nations and the atmosphere it creates.
Gerry has committed to raising £5000 for Wooden Spoon and will be grateful for the undoubted support his regulars will give him in raising this amount.
With all the original founders meeting for the first time in a number of years, it was a great opportunity to reflect back on good times and the success of Wooden Spoon as a charity, helping children and young people with a disability or facing disadvantage.
