Newport Juniors do their bit for charity!

On the morning of 11th December, there was even more activity than normal at Newport (Salop) RUFC. The minis and juniors provide coaching and games for boys and girls from ages 5 through to 17 and this Sunday saw the club run its increasingly popular second hand kit stall where players can exchange kit as they grow out of it. Players and parents are asked to make a donation and all money collected goes to Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby.

The charity’s mission is: “To positively transform the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children and young people across the UK and Ireland through the power of rugby”.

So far this year the club has raised £500 and will continue with events to support the charity. Here pictured are some of the volunteer parents and a grateful Mr. Glyn Dobbs, Shropshire Chairman for Wooden Spoon.
