Outdoor classroom provides fantastic new learning space at Stone Lodge Academy

Our Eastern Counties region were delighted to see the opening of the latest project our regional volunteers fundraised for, granting £8,700 to Stone Lodge Academy in Ipswich, in order to create a fantastic new outdoor classroom facility in the grounds of the academy.

Attending the official opening, the regional committee were represented by Maddie Mockler, Alan Line (treasurer) and Seamus Farrelly (Chairman). Andrew Sarek, who is a council member of the RFU, helped the pupils cut the ribbon.

The project was also supported by Ipswich YM RFC with one of their members – Sam Whitworth – raising an impressive £1,000 in sponsorship for running the Virgin Money London Marathon.

Rick Tracey, Headmaster of Stone Lodge Academy said; “This new facility has proved very popular and during our recent celebrations marking Roald Dahl’s centenary birth, our Year 7 and 8 classes very much enjoyed having books read to them in the Outdoor Classroom.”

Our Eastern Counties region would like to thank everyone who supported them in raising funds for this project, especially the continued financial support of The Fossil Foundation.

We hope the children continue to enjoy this creative new space for years to come!
