New woodwork and craft workshop for Cornfield School

WOODEN Spoon Sussex opened its latest project at Cornfield School, Littlehampton on Thursday 6th October. The new Cornfield School workshops will provide a range of woodworking and craft facilities for their students aged 9 to 16 who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

This is the 19th project funded by Wooden Spoon Sussex since its formation in 2005. Since then it has raised more than £350,000 from the Rugby and Sporting community in the County.

The opening was part of Wooden Spoon’s Tour de Sussex bike ride and staff, with pupils, school governors and the cycling team attending the ceremony.

The project was formally opened by Bob Rogers, Chairman of Wooden Spoon Sussex in full cycling regalia. In thanking Wooden Spoon Sussex for funding the new project, Maria Davis Headteacher said that the new workshop was a valuable addition to the school’s facilities and students are very keen to learn the new skills which the workshop will provide.
