Shropshire committee member makes history!

We are proud to announce that a member of our Shropshire committee has made a mark in history by becoming the first female President of Shropshire RFU!

Judith Phelps, who has been an avid supporter of Wooden Spoon for a number of years, was recently elected as President of the Shropshire RFU – the first female in their history to hold this position.

Judith Phelps Shropshire RFU President

Judith began her association with rugby at Telford Hornets RFC while her children were moving through the club’s junior section. She went on to serve the club in a number of roles including chairman.

Judith is well known for her expertise and is often called upon to support RFU events and conferences. She will hold the position for a two year term.

An instrumental supporter of our Shropshire region, Judith was one of our joint winner’s of Wooden Spoon’s Team Award 2015 for her outstanding support in organising the International Tag Rugby Festival at Telford.
