Superb evening at the Surrey Sportsman’s Dinner

Many of our wonderful supporters came together recently to enjoy a sumptuous dinner in the splendid surroundings of The Royal Automobile Club, near Epsom, for the annual Wooden Spoon Surrey Sportsman’s Dinner.

The 200 guests all enjoyed a welcome reception in the 19th Hole, which provided opportunity to mingle with new and old faces as well as two rugby Ambassadors; sports presenter John Inverdale, who is also Honorary President of Wooden Spoon, and Harlequins No.8, Nick Easter.

John Inverdale kept guests entertained as MC for the night, with Nick providing an entertaining Q&A with the diners, giving insight into his career playing in the Premiership.

We were delighted to welcome all the way from Staffordshire a couple who found the event online and booked the tickets as an anniversary present!

It was a fantastic night which raised nearly £9,000 – a great amount which will help make a real difference to disabled and disadvantaged children across the county.
