JDMA support Wooden Spoon in Worcestershire

Emma Harris of JDMA Design, Pershore, recently took on her first marathon in Edinburgh raising over £1,300 for Wooden Spoon Worcestershire.

JDMA Design recently became corporate sponsors of the local Worcestershire region of Wooden Spoon to celebrate their 25th year in business.

As Emma was already planning on running her first marathon, she thought it would be a good opportunity to raise vital funds for the region whilst taking on the challenge.

Following 16 weeks of training to prepare for the event Emma finished the gruelling 26.2 mile run in an impressive 3hours 59 minutes and smashed her fundraising target of £500.

Emma explained what a thrilling experience the day was: “I made my way to the start-line feeling excited and nervous. I lined up in my start pen and the atmosphere started to build. The crowds counted us down from 10 and then we were off, 26.2 miles to go! I reached the half way point in 1hr 53 which was great and helped me to reassure myself that I could finish in under 4hrs.

“The second half was tough mentally and physically, but I focused on my goal and reminded myself that I was doing this for a great cause. The feeling of crossing the finish line was great, I’d done it!”

Wooden Spoon would like thank Emma, her sponsors and everyone at JMDA Design for supporting Wooden Spoon Worcester and raising vital funds for projects in the local area.

JDMA will be taking part in a raft race, golf day and pigeon shoot in the coming months so keep an eye our for more success stories!
