Wooden Spoon Shropshire provides golf lessons for children with learning difficulties

As a result of Shropshire Golf Centre’s Ladies Captain, Vicki Hughes, raising funds for Wooden Spoon during her year of captaincy, a group of children with learning difficulties received coaching lessons at the Shropshire Golf Centre in Muxton.

This is the first venture by Wooden Spoon Shropshire introducing children to and it proved to be a tremendous success. Trained by professionals Lisa and Mark Shervil, the children loved the opportunity to use the club’s driving range and 9 hole golf course at early evening sessions. New friendships have been formed amongst the children who took part and they all enjoyed the adventure.

Wooden Spoon Shropshire are delighted with the initial activity and are looking to hear from any schools or organisations supporting children with learning difficulties in the Shropshire area who might be interested in joining golf sessions in the future. Get in touch today to find out more.
