Nazels Golf Club raises £28,000 for Wooden Spoon

When Nizels Golf Club held their annual presentation dinner we were delighted to receive a cheque for £28,000 which was presented to Paul Shrubsall, chairman of Wooden Spoon Kent.

The three captains of Nizels Golf Club; Mark Chatham, the Men’s Captain, Nikki Bell, the Lady Captain and Allen Lanceley, the Captain of the Senior and Veterans had all chosen Wooden Spoon as their benefiting charity for their captain’s year.

Mark Chatham, on behalf of the three Captains, said: “Wooden Spoon is a great cause and we have had a lot of fun this season, both on and off the course, and it is gratifying to think the result will put a smile on the faces of some of Kent’s most disadvantaged children. We are also delighted that the Nizels Team who played in the Kent Regional golf day went on to win the Wooden Spoon National Final at Chepstow.”

Kent chairman Paul Shrubsall added: “The generosity shown by the Captain’s and members of Nizels is truly outstanding and I am almost lost for words in expressing our appreciation. This money will go a long way in funding projects in the local community and will make a huge difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in Kent.”
