Brighton Youth Centre, the towns oldest established Youth Club has been given a new Wheelchair Lifter worth £10,000 by Sussex Spoon, the local branch of Wooden Spoon, the Childrens charity of Rugby.

On Monday 16th January, Wooden Spoon was at the Twickenham stadium to join the Rugby Football Union (RFU) in launching the 'FairPlay supported by Barclays Spaces for Sports' project evaluation report. This innovative two- year programme has been working with hard to reach children through rugby, helping them address a number of key issues around behaviour and social skills.

Autism Sussex formally opened their new Sensory room with Wooden Spoon CEO Bill Hill, unveiling the plaque on 20th March.

Wooden Spoon is excited to announce a new partnership to help significantly improve the lives of young people (aged 16- 19) who are currently not in education, employment or training across the UK. Wooden Spoon will be working with YMCA Training and the leading professional rugby bodies in the British Isles to engage and recruit socially disadvantaged and disillusioned young people on to a unique education and training programme, with the ultimate goal of progressing young people on to full time work or education.
